
BEHIND THE EYE
Matt Artz is a
1999 graduate of Old Dominion University and has worked as a writer and
photographer on North Carolina’s Outer Banks since 2000.
His work has appeared in The North Beach Sun and The Coastland Times newspaper,
as well as numerous other publications, including the current edition of The
Outer Banks Wedding Guide, The Outer Banks Travel Guide, rip Current Magazine,
The Edenton Enterprise, The Chowan Herald, The Duck/Corolla Guide, The Currituck
Club Magazine, Front Porch Magazine, and The Edge Outer Banks magazine.
An exhibit entitled “Covering the Monument to a Century of Flight,” featuring the photography of Matt Artz, was shown at Glenn Eure’s Ghost Fleet Gallery in Nags Head, NC for nearly a year in 2004.
The Artz Gallery Photography was officially launched in 2005, and merged with OBXViolin.com in 2006 to offer comprehensive Wedding Packages including Photography by Matt Artz and Live Music and DJ Services by Sue Artz.
Matt currently lives in Kill Devil Hills, NC with his wife, Sue, and their sons Ozzie and Jasper.

at Wright National Memorial.
-Shooting 2003 X-Games world champion skateboarder Bucky Lasek in Nags Head two weeks before Lasek captured gold for the second year in row in Los Angeles, Calif. in 2004.
-Covering Jesse James, of the Discovery Channel’s Monster Garage, and his successful flight of a flying car in Currituck, NC in 2005.
-Covering the 9/11 aftermath at Ground Zero in New York City in October 2001.
-Shooting hundreds of musicians in concert, including Michelle Branch, The Beach Boys, The Temptations, 2 Live Crew, Clutch, Afroman, Stanley Jordan, Carbon Leaf, Phunk Junkees, The Wailers, Aaron Tippin, Lee Greenwood, The Connells, Reverend Horton Heat, Gov’t Mule, BobaFlex, Hydrovibe, and guitar legend Hubert Sumlin.

About Sue Artz
Renowned
classically trained violinist Sue Artz grew up in
Saratoga Springs NY
and has been playing the violin for 25 years. She performed in symphonies all
throughout her childhood and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in
music performance from
The College of New Paltz, NY.
Sue Artz has been on stage since age 6, playing for thousands over the years at various venues throughout the east coast, including Carnegie Hall with an orchestra and at New York’s legendary rock club CBGB’s among many more, with her former punk rock alternative band.
Locally, Sue starred in the Outer Banks Music
Showcase, founded the former Heart Strings and Ivory trio, was an original
member of the Showstoppers band and has performed at many festivals and
benefits.
In 2001, Sue made headlines when she won more than $40,000 in front of millions
of viewers on the long-running game show Wheel of Fortune.
Sue plays hundreds of weddings along the beaches of the Outer Banks every year since her arrival to North Carolina in 2000.
In addition to serving as the 2004-2005 vice-president of the Outer Banks Wedding Association, and she has taught many adults and children in the community.
Sue enjoys performing string-themed favorites from a wide range of genres for all generations, including classical standards as well as contemporary hits by artists including The Beatles, Ozzy Osbourne, Queen, Green Day, Rhianna, Charlie Daniels, and more.
Sue currently resides in Kill Devil Hills with her husband, writer/photographer Matt Artz, and their two sons, Jasper and Ozzie.
Sue and Matt now dedicate their time to their
Family Business (see more at

which includes providing the perfect atmosphere for weddings here on the Outer
Banks.
